What a fantastic day of football we had yesterday celebrating our Centenary Cup.
We had 4 teams competing - St. Peter's Moortown, St. Patrick's Loup, St. Patrick's Mullinahoe and Derrychrin P.S.
After a really hard fought league section in which the girls played some lovely football and scores that would have been replayed on The Sunday Game were taken, the top two teams who would play in the final were Derrychrin and St. Peter's.
After lunch both sets of girls entered the pitch for the grand final. St. Peter's battled hard and had some lovely passages of play, but unfortunately for them Derrychrin's tackling was ferocious and this was the basis on which they eventually finished victorious.
Congratulations to Derrychrin on their win and hard luck to our own girls who came so close. Thanks also to St. Patrick's Loup and St. Patrick's Ardboe for a fun day's football.
